Tulips are gorgeous spring flowers, but they have a limited season so why not crochet some of them and keep them around all year?

These flowers are very unique and creative. You have to crochet many of these and can decorate many places in your apartment; it can be a wonderful gift for friends and family.

Materials needed to make this flower is any sport weight yarn (2mm thickness) with a 2mm crochet hook, a wooden skewer with a diameter of 0.5 cm and a height of 30cm, hot glue, a sewing needle, and fiber for stuffing.

This tutorial starts with making big and small leaves, then making 3 petals, then working on the stem, and gluing all parts together.

Materials

  • Yarn in colors – green (for stems and leaves), purple (for flowers). 2mm thickness
  • Wooden skewer with a diameter of 0.5mm and height of 30 cm
  • Fiberfill for staffing
  • 2mm crochet hook
  • Needle for sewing details
  • Hot glue
  • Scissors

If you use thicker yarn, you need fewer rows of sc. COnversely, if you use thinner yarn, you should increase number of sc rows. Anyway, the final length of the petals should be 6 cm.

Stem and Middle of Tultip

Mark the 25 and 30 cm lengths on the skewer with a pencil.

Start with green yarn:

6 sc into the Mr and continue crocheting sc in round up to 25 cm.

Join the purple yarn:

Round 1: 6 sc into Mr (6)
Round 2: 6 inc (12)
Round 3: (1 sc, inc) * 6 (18)
Round 4-15: 18 sc (18)

Gently spin te wooden skewer and insert it into the stem.

if you use thicker yarn, you need fewer rows of sc. Conversely, if you use thinner yarn, you should increase the numbers of sc rows. Anyway, the final length of the purple part should be 5 cm.

Cut the excess length of the wooden skewer from the 30 cm you had marked. And continue crocheting:

Round 16: (1 sc, dec) * 6 (12)

Fill around the wooden skewer in the purple part with fiberfill such that the wooden skewer should be in the center.

Round 17: 6 dec (6)

Add more stuffing if needed. Finish with sl st and fasten off.

How to Glue the Leaves and Petals

First, glue one of the petals around the middle bud with hot glue. Then glue the next petal so that some of it is on te first petal and finally glue the third petal so that it is on both petals.

Attach the large leaf to the stem at a distance of 12 cm from the bottom of the stem. Attach the small leaf to the stem at a distance of 16 cm from the bottom of the stem.
